Last Night I Cried

I wept for my husband, who is married to a woman that can't give him the family he wants.
I wept for my son, who is so very lonely for another child to share his life with.

Yesterday, I took Ezra to McD's after school so he could burn off some energy and have some time to just play with other kids. At one point, he studied a family that included a brother and sister. He came over to me, buried his face in my neck and said "Mommy, I don't have a brother or sister. I really want one."

I held it together then. But last night, I cried.

  1. I'm so sorry that you won't be able to have another child naturally. I know you really want one. Ezra's so adorable, how could you not want another? :) But any thoughts on adoption as a possibility? Matt and i are seriously considering it. Loving a child is loving a child, right?

  2. Yes, adoption is an option. More on that to come ;)

Whitney, thanks for posting, it makes my day when you do!

  3. Oh, honey. My heart is so sad for you as you work through these feelings. When our realities don't match our expectations, that's when life gets difficult. If there's any consolation in this, know that if Ezra is the only child for you and Chris, you absolutly knocked it out of the park! He is such a delight and you are such a great mommy to him. I, for one, am hoping your heart's longings will be satisfied.

  4. I have had the exact same situation happen to me again and again. I totally understand.
